The seminar is organised to share the research results of the MAKEAWARE!-Spearhead initiative and involve the community of healthcare experts in an iterative process aimed at improving the outcomes and identifying future research directions. MAKEAWARE! is an initiative started in 2022 and developed by the Institute of Design of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland within the Spearhead project. The goal of MAKEAWARE! is to involve patients and citizens in correct antibiotic consumption behaviours to avoid resistance development. After more than three years of work, this seminar represents the occasion to share the results with a community of experts to collect feedback and prepare the final improvements before the end.
The seminar is organised by the Institute of Design of SUPSI to take place in the Mendrisio campus on June 4th, 2025. The seminar is scheduled as a full-day activity, involving experts from different fields who have worked on healthcare projects from many perspectives.
The activity aims to: 1) share the MAKEAWARE!-Spearhead results and collect feedback on the current outcomes; 2) bring multiple perspectives from different disciplines and projects related to healthcare, fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue aimed at enriching design research and practice. These goals are both supposed to contribute to the redefining and improvement of the current results; identifying interests for possible future research directions; and establishing connections for multidisciplinary collaborations.

Question 1
How do the practices or outcomes of our work intersect with your own research or design activities? Do you see any points of connection, convergence, or divergence that could be meaningful for mutual exploration or development?
Question 2
Based on what has been shared, what insights, critical points, or opportunities do you consider relevant for further developing our approach? Are there methods, areas of application, or potential collaborations you would suggest for future follow-up or implementation?
